The third Davis Chinese Film Festival runs throughout the summer, hosted by the Davis Chinese Film Festival Foundation and co-hosted by the Confucius Institute of UC Davis. International House, China News Publishing Administration for Radio and Film and many other organizations are collaborators.
Dayyan Eng, a famous director, and Rui Yang, the Larry King of China, are the honorary guests of this year’s film festival. All of the award-winning feature films from China will have English subtitles and are shown for free to the public. For more information, visit www.DavisCFF.org.
The schedule is:
- “Forever Enthralled” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at I-House, 10 College Park in Davis;
- “Ballet in the Flames of War,” at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Arthur F. Turner Library, 1212 Merkley Ave. in West Sacramento;
- “The Taking of Tiger Mountain,” at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Arthur F. Turner Library, 1212 Merkley Ave. in West Sacramento;
- “Lottery,” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis;
- “Once Again,” at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Arthur F. Turner Library, 1212 Merkley Ave. in West Sacramento;
- “Monster Hunt,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28,at Arthur F. Turner Library, 1212 Merkley Ave. in West Sacramento;
- “Crossing Donner Summit,” a documentary, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis;
- “The Taking of Tiger Mountain,” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, in Reno, Nev.
- “Monkey King: Hero is Back,” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, in Reno.
